The new NBC musical drama “Smash’’ has a lot of big personalities and voices vying for attention but one person is poised to pull focus when the show premieres at 10 p.m. on Feb. 6. Broadway vet Megan Hilty shines onscreen as the talented, ambitious, and just a little desperate Ivy Lynn, the woman vying with McPhee’s character for the title role of Marilyn Monroe in a new Broadway musical. Whether the Washington native gets the part on the show remains to be seen. But Hilty’s got the goods to be a smash either way. [x]
